I built a rig to place and pose 3D arrows in a Maya scene. The rig has a variety of parameters with the intent of creating nice looking arrows to convey motion, connection, process, flow, or any of a myriad of meanings that arrows take on in visual communication (Nature Methods: Points of View: Arrows).
Download and unzip the file linked by the image below and read through the README for using the files with Maya scenes. There are a few known issues that I may end up tweaking and fixing in the future, but for now I feel it’s a usable asset, so feel free to give it a try.
